I overheard the Sauce at work but had to modify it for my diet and allergies.
The family loves it, so here it is!
Meatballs (technically Gluten free):
1 lb Lean fresh ground beef
1 cup crushed gluten free cinnamon chex cereal
1/2 cup egg beaters
1/4 cup diced onions
Mix in a large bowl and shape into golf ball sized balls. Bake 45 minutes at 350 or until fully cooked.
Sauce:
1 14-15oz can beanless chili (Hormel brand is gluten free or whatever you choose)
1 14oz can ocean spray cranberry "jelly"
1/4 cup brown sugar
Heat chili, cranberry jelly and brown sugar, on Medium heat stirring occasionally. When Cranberry jelly is melted add meatballs and simmer for 10 minutes.
SERVE!!!! I ate it on Frito's but Hoagie buns, the family says, are good as well.
Note: If you want to use premade meatballs, preheat them first, the frozen ones don't absorb the flavor as well!
